About WCAT
Background
Wabe Children’s Aid and Training (WCAT) was established in 1993. It has fulfilled all the requirements and was registered by Authority for Civil Society Organizations in Ethiopia with registration number 0541 as board-led local civil society organization based on the revised proclamation 1113/ 2019. WCAT is established to make contributions to the alleviations of the socio-economic and environmental problems of vulnerable children, youth, women and other community members.

Objectives:
- Empower highly vulnerable children and support elderly in sustainable manner
- Enable children in rural, semi-urban and urban areas get access to inclusive quality basic education and capacitate schools through construction, material and training make schools child friendly.
- Empower destitute youth, mothers and returnees through enhancing their livelihood
- Promote awareness, attitudinal and behavioral changes on basic health services and alleviate SRH problems by expanding access and supports
- Enable the rehabilitation of degraded environments and wise use and protection of natural resources through enhancing value chains
- Contribute to the changes in good governance, democratic and human rights by working in collaboration with government and enable the community to be responsive
- Eliminate harmful practices and nurture good norms and culture
